The Show Goes On

The show of the medical machine protecting its turf continues on its merry way. In my, over 40 years in the chiropractic profession I have seen the constant rhetoric of medical profession attacking chiropractic with sensationalised media manipulation, personal attacks, innuendo, insinuation, half-truths, out of context quoting, misinformation, lies and influencing the government into vilifying a profession that does not buy into their medical myths.

As a part of the regular chiro-bashing and bullying session the man who protects the bastion of the highest levels of medical ‘science’, Prof Brian Owler, National President of the Australian Medical Association is reported as saying last week “I would rather poke my eyes with a stick than observe a chiropractic ‘adjustment’”. As an advocate of evidence based scientific enquiry one must smile and turn ones eyes skyward on how low does a profession have to stoop to denigrate another profession.

When medicine is as ‘one eyed’ as it is and they are wanting to poke their already dysfunctioning eye out making them totally blind I guess we have a new slant on a double blinded trial! But really, are they blinded to the fact that is it is they who are the dangerous ones, it is they who are the 3rd leading cause of death in the US and the leading cause of death and disablement. If they were honest enough in Australia to keep appropriate records I am sure that there would be no difference in the statistics here.

In all their attacks I have not seen FOSIM nor the AMA, The Australian Doctor nor any other group of “skeptics” and highly paid ‘trolls’ ever produced a single shred of scientific evidence or produced a single literature review showing greater evidence for medical or physiotherapy interventions than chiropractic for spinal health care of people of any age.

I’m sure there are caring medical doctors who act according to their Hippocratic oath and I know that those within the medical ranks are subject to intense bullying and restriction by their ‘thought police’ and hate campaign strategies? There is certainly unrest in those areas too.

The profession of medicine is at an all time low – these puppets of the drug companies will do what ever they can to push more drugs inside or outside of the law and pity help any individual or profession (like chiropractic) that happens to get in the way.

I know that chiropractic and other natural approaches to health care are a huge cost to medical profits. Consider chiropractic alone. We see an estimated 300,000 visits a week in Australia. If we even influence 10% of those people to live a natural and healthy lifestyle it takes them out of the medical ‘customers for life’ bucket. That is a huge lost opportunity cost to medicine amounting to many millions of dollars over a lifetime that don’t make it into medical doctors or drug company’s coffers.

How low do they have to go to make sure that their massive profits from the public purse are increased?

We will see.

In the meantime the show goes on. The paradox of this divide and conquer hatred campaign is that ever increasing people are using chiropractic.
