How to Grow Your Practice by Taking Time Off

The sage advice from antiquity of ‘If you are failing to plan you are planning to fail’ is as true today as it was when it was first uttered. When it comes to your chiropractic practice growth there must be a plan. One of the most neglected plans for  practice owners and associates alike is that of planned time off.

Mary, a coaching client of ours, had been 20 years in practice working 5 days a week and reluctantly taking 2 weeks holiday at the end of the year plus the statutory days associated with public holidays.

She felt tired and burned out and every day/week/month and year seemed like the proverbial groundhog day – same-same. Her practice numbers showed this malaise as the roller coaster stats reflected her personal energy level. Whilst the culture in her country (USA) would see that situation as usual and normal we challenged her to review this custom and set up a plan for amping her time off from chiropractic practice.

She has some severe resistance to this proposal but to her credit she has persisted with allocating more and more time totally away from the practice. As A result, her chiropractic practice has expanded and Mary is happier, more creative and more productive.
