Who Do You Serve – Part 4

We are currently reflecting on where the people you serve are at in their journey relative to chiropractic. We are visiting the various types and suggesting a few thoughts on how to develop and graduate the type to the next level.

Last week we spoke about the Patients and this week we look at…

Member

This stage is the crossover point between the allopathic, therapeutic, control and management style of care and the chiropractic, generative, choice driven care.

The practice member gradually morphs into what we more commonly refer to as a practice member as they gain more of the chiropractic paradigm.

This person is awakening to the chiropractic viewpoint. They resonate with the philosophical premises upon which chiropractic is built and constantly question the philosophical constructs of their environment and world.

This person is increasingly aware of the power of the correct application of chiropractic and builds certainty in its application as a valid construct of health care delivery.

They become more politically curious and start to question the norms of society that they had previously complied with.

Your role in this development is firstly to get yourself above the doctor/practice member mindset and role and then to challenge people to reach for a greater understanding that is offered outside of the ‘bubble’ that most people live in.

This stage requires significant and constant change on the chiropractor’s behalf and if it is not achieved the person will leave the practice.
